Compensation as a victim of crime

We produced a detailed guide in 2010 on eligibility for compensation under the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme. This (sadly) set out a number of ways in which your eligibility could be reduced if you had unspent convictions.

At the point of launching this Hub in late 2013, the Government had recently tightened the process in relation to convictions. We are working on producing updated guidance as a result. In the meantime, the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) have produced their own guide.
